(Note: This article was written during my 12th week on the Jenny Craig program, which was the week of May 1, 2020).

Three months. That's how long I've been on the Jenny Craig Rapid Results plan. It's so interesting that such a big part of this Jenny Craig journey has coincided with stay-at-home orders and a huge change in the way we all live our lives.

I've realized that this new way of living has made it a little harder to gauge weight loss progress. When you don't see people every day...coworkers, friends, the other parents at school events... you don't get that very human feedback, "Hey, you look great! Have you lost weight?" I have been known to react to these kinds of comments with a little bit of embarrassment (I'm not very good with compliments in general), so I never would have thought I'd miss them. But I do.

For this weight loss journey, I've had to rely on other ways to measure my progress toward my weight loss goals, like putting on jeans I haven't worn in a while and taking then and now photos (yes, those do help a lot). I also try to check in with myself about how I'm feeling in general. More energy? Check. More confidence? Check. Even though these aren't measurable, they definitely say progress to me!

And then, of course, there are the actual numbers. I try not to allow the scale to be the ONLY way I measure progress, but it's good to have some objectivity. I do look forward (usually) to my weekly weigh-ins so that I can see the weight loss in real time. I have been taking measurements every month or so, and those numbers also help me measure progress in a meaningful way.

So, at 12 weeks in, I figured it's time to share an objective update. If I get a little subjective feedback after sharing, heck, all the better! Now that I've realized how important that is for continued motivation toward meeting my goal, I'm going to relish it!

So, here it goes: I've lost 16.8 pounds and 10.5 inches on Jenny Craig so far.* (Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program). No matter how you measure it, THAT'S progress!

*Avg. weight lost in a study was 11.6 lbs./4 wks. for those who completed the program. I received promotional consideration. Looking for a program that will lead to weight loss success for YOU? Jenny Craig might be the answer! Click HERE for more information.
