My 6th week on the Jenny Craig program started on March 21, 2020. That was the week that my kids were supposed to have spring break. It was the week that should have ended with an all-state choir concert for one daughter and an Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament for the other. It should have been a week buzzing with activity at the university where I work as students came back from their own spring breaks to finish out their semesters.
None of those things happened, of course. Instead, a week that should have been full of excitement and celebration ended up being a quiet week at home with seemingly very little to celebrate.
Well, very little to celebrate... EXCEPT for the fact that even during this time of tremendous stress, I reached my 10-pound weight loss milestone* (* Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program) and also lost 5 inches, thanks to Jenny Craig!

I was already doing phone consultations and having my Jenny Craig food shipped directly to my house each week, so one thing in my life that hasn't had to change is my participation in the Jenny Craig program. My food still arrives at my door right on time (and bonus, the dry ice it is packed in is great for at-home science lessons for my kids). I still have my weekly phone chats with my wonderful consultant, Norma, whose support and encouragement continue to be an invaluable part of the Jenny Craig program. Norma celebrated my weight loss right along with me (even as she helped me talk me off a ledge about my urge to stress-eat).
So, onward we go through these uncertain times, trying to appreciate the little things and celebrate the small victories. Despite the uncertainties, I'm confident about one thing: As long as I stay on the Jenny Craig plan I'll have many more small victories to celebrate.
