The votes are in! There were over 1000 votes in our 2020 Gold Daisy School Appreciation contest, and one Tucson elementary school pulled ahead of the pack. All of our Top 10 nominated schools are worthy of appreciation (really, ALL of our local schools and teachers are worthy of appreciation!), but this year one school community rallied and got the highest number of total votes to win the 2020 East Tucson Macaroni Kid Gold Daisy School Appreciation Award! That lucky school is....

Desert Willow was our first ever Gold Daisy Elementary School winner (back in 2016, when this event was still called the Cool School contest). This year, it was amazing to see the way the Desert Willow community worked together even during social distancing to get the word out to their school community. A huge number of Desert Willow supporters remembered to vote EVERY SINGLE DAY of the voting period!
Desert Willow teachers and staff will enjoy a pizza party from Mama's Famous Pizza and Heros, and a $100 cash donation and fun goodies from Lucky Cat Social Art. We are so excited to celebrate with the Desert Willow community as soon as we are all able to gather together again. There will be all the more to celebrate when we can!
