Attention Young Actors of Tucson!

Virtual Audition Call for Tucson Middle and High School Students

By Sponsored content from Live Theatre Workshop March 6, 2020

Live Theatre Workshop is holding virtual auditions for Middle and High school students to perform in the 1st annual young playwriting contest.

After hosting its first annual playwrighting contest for local students between the ages 13 and 18, three original short plays were chosen to be workshopped. The three young playwrights will be paired up with three of our very own local seasoned playwrights, who will direct the students' 10 min plays to be performed for the public in July 2020.

Virtual auditions for Middle and High School students will be held via Zoom on

April 5, 2020 from 11am-2pm.

Interested students must contact Amanda Gremel at amanda.g@livetheatreworkshop.org to schedule an audition time slot.

Students should be sure to come prepared with:

• A one-minute monologue prepared

• They should also send a head shot and one-page resume to Amanda via email.

Tips for virtual auditions:

  • Find a quiet space with a plain background
  • Try to have a light source in front of you (not behind or on one side of you)
  • Make sure you are framed from at least the waist up.

Students will be contacted if they are needed for call backs.

If you are cast in a Young Playwrights show, rehearsals are scheduled to start at the end of May and go through June, once or twice a week. This is subject to change due to public health precautions. More details will be given out at auditions.
