Stocking stuffers were easy when my daughters were younger. Any little treats would do, as long as they were colorful, festive, and made of sugar. Now that my kids are older, though, I needed some new ideas for joyful stockings that will also appeal to the more "mature" tastes of a teen and tween.
For inspiration, I headed to the gum and candy aisle at Target, and my first idea hit. Gum! My girls love gum, and I love that DENTYNE Gum and TRIDENT Gum have sugar-free varieties in many different flavors, like DENTYNE Gum Fire and Ice and TRIDENT VIBES Spearmint Rush and Peppermint Wave. While I totally appreciate the sugar-free gum, I knew my kids would still want some sweet treats in their stockings. Further down the aisle, I saw just the things: SWEDISH FISH Soft & Chewy Candy and SOUR PATCH KIDS Soft & Chewy Candy. Each of my children has a favorite: My kid with the more adventurous palate gravitates toward the puckery tartness and sweetness of SOUR PATCH KIDS Candy, while the child who prefers more classic flavors loves the sweet, but not too sweet, SWEDISH FISH Candy. Something for each of them. Score!

Finally, what are the holidays without some chocolate? TOBLERONE Chocolate Bars are Swiss chocolate made with honey and almond nougat, a delicious treat for kids and adults. After purchasing my candy, I headed home to start stuffing. Even though my girls’ tastes have changed, they certainly haven’t outgrown a little festive flair, so I got a little creative with the presentation. I portioned out the SWEDISH FISH Candy into cellophane bags and couldn't resist adding a holiday pun. I had fun decorating the DENTYNE Gum. The DENTYNE Gum Fire flavor is already a great holiday red, so a little green ribbon completed the look. DENTYNE Ice Gum pieces are white, so with just a marker and some orange paper I was able to make a package full of icy snowmen.

The TOBLERONE Chocolate Bar packaging is so unique on its own that it doesn’t need any flair, but after I got on a snowman kick with the DENTYNE Ice Gum, I tried my hand at a TOBLERONE Chocolate Bar snowman also. I think it turned out so cute!

As I was working on my kids’ stockings, I started thinking about how much some of the adults in my life would enjoy these products, too. I know lots of busy parents, teachers, and healthcare workers who would love to chew through the stress with a little TRIDENT Gum or relax with TOBLERONE Chocolate Bars. I was so inspired by the Target gum & candy aisle and these great products that I just may put together a few more stockings this year to treat some deserving grown-ups, too!
