The Hanen Program for Parents of Children with Language Delay

Training Parents to Take Control of their Children's Speech & Language Development

January 8, 2015
Are you a parent of a child with language delay or autism spectrum disorder? Learn about how you can take advantage of everyday opportunities to promote your child's communication and language development with one of two The Hanen Program® classes being offered this fall.

IT TAKES TWO TO TALK® IS A THERAPY PROGRAM FOR  PARENTS OF CHILDREN (BIRTH TO FIVE) WHO HAVE AN EXPRESSIVE AND/OR RECEPTIVE LANGUAGE DELAY.

This program is a family-focused early language intervention for young children with expressive and/or receptive language delays. It is being offered by speech-language pathologists Gretchen Davis and Kathe McGrath in the fall of 2014.  The class is 11 weeks long, including eight classroom sessions and three home visits.  During the home visits the speech therapist provides one-on-one coaching while observing your interactions with your child.

MORE THAN WORDS® IS A THERAPY PROGRAM FOR  PARENTS OF CHILDREN (BIRTH TO FIVE) WHO HAVE AN AUTISM  SPECTRUM DISORDER.

This twelve week program, run by a certified speech-language pathologist, will include a combination of group training sessions and individual consultations using videotaping and feedback.  The program will help parents learn how to improve their child’s social skills, engage in back-and-forth interactions and improve understanding of language.

If you are interested in learning more about these classes, consider attending one of the FREE orientation sessions:
