Build A Brain Bag!

Beat boredom with a customized bag full of engaging fun!

By Melissa Miller, Independent Educational Consultant July 18, 2013

Tired of handing over your phone in restaurants? Worried about summer brain drain? Want your kids to spend less time in front of screens?? Build a brain bag!

What’s a brain bag, you ask?

Well, don’t bother googling it – I’m not talking about an expensive and fancy backpack for your laptop.

It’s simple: a brain bag is a tote bag filled with fun activities and books that you grab and take with you on the run. Take it in the car (or just leave it there so it’s always with you when you’re out and about), use it while waiting for the doctor and open it for entertainment in a restaurant.

The key is to include at least 4 activities and books that are varied enough so that at least one is bound to catch your child’s interest no matter his mood.

Want to get a brain bag for your kids? How about one customized just for you? These bags make great birthday and holiday gifts so scoot on over to www.facebook.com/ReadMoreUsborne for a “buy 2 bags, get 1 free” offer going on this weekend! (Or contact Melissa for more info.)

If you’d like to put your own brain bag together, here are some examples of types of books that you might want to include:

Side note: OK, so maybe you don’t want to schlep around 4 books in the diaper bag – you can probably get away with one or two of the following with a baby.
