Macaroni Review: Dippin' Dots Delivers...BIG TIME!

An #MKSummerFun sponsored review

Did you know that Dippin’ Dots delivers? Yes, they deliver to your door (more on that later), but if you’re planning a summer fun event in the near future and you want a sure-fire crowd pleaser…Dippin' Dots delivers big smiles and lots of fun!

At our recent #MKSummerFun party, Dippin’ Dots ice cream was THE unanimous crowd pleaser! Kids of all ages came back for seconds (and thirds), and adults loved learning more about this sweet treat that most had only ever seen sold at the Zoo and Golf N Stuff. Delivery? Who knew?

When I first learned Dippin’ Dots was going to be a sponsor of our party, I was a bit skeptical. After all, this is TUCSON. How well could ice cream delivery work in southern Arizona? I was soon to learn…it works GREAT!

The actual ordering process was easy…well, except for choosing flavors, that is! I was excited to learn that there were multiple flavor options, and not JUST ice cream! There are ices, frozen yogurts, sorbets and no sugar added options. I was also pleased to see several flavors that have no artificial dyes, as I have a dye-sensitive kiddo in my household and I wanted her to be able to enjoy this great treat. Take a look at JUST the ice cream flavors, below. Hard to choose, right?

After much deliberation, I finally decided on gallon bags of Cookies ‘n Cream (my dye-free girl’s favorite flavor) and Blueberry Sorbet (for the lactose-free crowd). Gallon bags serve about 30 people, and 3 gallons can fit in a single shipment container. I didn’t need quite three gallons, so I picked out a few single serving flavors of fro-yo (just to try out that option) and some of the popular ice creams to round out my order and give my party goers more variety. Other than deliberating flavors, ordering was quick and simple. I scheduled my delivery for the day before my party and crossed my fingers that I’d get DOTS and not bags full of mush.

I needn’t have worried. The Dippin’ Dots arrived in a Styrofoam cooler on dry ice. They were perfect! They did arrive a day before they were scheduled, so I bought an extra pound of dry ice, just in case. It was cooler than usual the weekend they came, so I did not need the extra dry ice; however, it may be a good idea to scope out dry ice vendors (I got mine at Fry’s) if you’re ordering in the heat of the Tucson summer. Dippin’ Dots must stay on dry ice, and can’t be put into a typical freezer. The gallon sized bags come with Dippin’ Dots plastic cups and spoons to make serving simple, and the single servings can just be eaten right out of the bags.

Party goers absolutely loved every flavor they tried, and those who tried multiple kinds had a hard time choosing a favorite, although Cookies N’ Cream was truly a hit. Several parents were pleased to learn about the Dot Crazy rewards club (free Dippin’ Dots on your birthday!) and the SUMMERFUN promo code which allows users to order 2 gallons and get one free + FREE shipping through August 31st.  Everyone was excited about the home delivery option, and fascinated by just how SIMPLE it was, even to Tucson!
