Is it really already time to think about the kids heading back to school? It feels like I just attended my daughter's kindergarten graduation and picked out end-of-year gifts for the kids' wonderful teachers. I could have sworn we JUST went shopping for new swimsuits...can it possibly be time to shop for school supplies?
Like it or not, the hustle-bustle of the new school year is just days away (Vail has already started). There are a few more events over the next couple of weeks to help you and the young students in your household get prepared-and EXCITED-for the 2016-2017(!!) school year.
Saturday, July 30
Just Between Friends Back to School Sale and Family Fun Fest: 8 AM-5 PM. Stock up on clothes, books, and toys for the back-to-school season at Tucson's semi-annual consignment sale! Sale starts on July 28th with $2 admission; FREE admission July 29 & 30. July 30th is also 50% off day and the Family Fun Fest and Resource Fair! The JBF Sale is held in the Tucson Convention Center Ball Room, 260 S. Church.
Feria de la Lectura: 9 AM-12 PM. Enjoy story time, family literacy activities, crafts, free haircuts, and literacy activities. The family friendly event features free school supplies, backpacks, bike helmets, and more (while supplies last). El Pueblo Activity Center, 101 W. Irvington.
Tucson Police Foundation Health and Safety Fair: 9 AM-12 PM. Come to this FREE event for free school supplies, safety items, safety demonstrations, and lots of information your family can use as your children head back to school. Park Place Mall Center Court.
Back to School Brigade Tucson: 9 AM-1 PM. Backpacks and schools supplies for military children. Open to all active duty military families. Must bring military ID. 6620 S. Air Guard Way, Blding #5

El Rio Community Health Center Immunization Clinic: 9 AM-2 PM. FREE services for school aged children (parents must be present). Immunizations, free dental and vision screenings and additional resources and services. 839 W. Congress.
