Although it has been strangely cool this spring, the heat will be upon us soon enough! When that happens, it's good to know where to go to get COOL! Here are some of the free (and low cost) splash pads around Tucson.
City of Tucson Splash Pads
- Balboa Heights Splash Pad: 2536 N. Castro Avenue. 8 a.m.-sunset. FREE.
- Catalina Park Splash Pad: Located in the West University area, at 900 N. 4th Avenue. 8 a.m-sunset. FREE.
Pima County Splash Pads
- Brandi Fenton Splash Pad: 3482 E. River Road, open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. FREE.
- Picture Rocks Splash Pad & Pool (Opening Memorial Weekend, 2016): 5615 N. Sanders Road. $1 entry fee for children, $3 for adults.
Other local splash pads of note:
- Ott YMCA Splash Pad: 401 S. Prudence. Free for members or can be enjoyed as part of a $10 day pass that includes use of the pool and other Y facilities.
- Oro Valley Aquatic Center: 23 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley. This facility includes pools, a water slide and splash pad. Regular rates are $5 for children 5-14 and $7 for adults ($1 less for Oro Valley residents). Children 3 and under are free.
- Tucson J Splash Pad: 3800 E. River Road. The splash pad is part of the JCC aquatic area, including a full sized pool and a tot pool. Use of the aquatic facilities is included with membership to the J, or a day pass can be purchased for $10.
