I have two little girls with very different fashion philosophies. My older daughter is all about comfort. Her "uniform" for most of her life has been leggings, t-shirts, and sneakers. My younger daughter is more of a shoe-loving fashionista, but she's a hard-playing girl who easily gets holes in the knees of her leggings and quickly loses the sparkle off of her fancy shoes.
My philosophy? I want them to wear affordable (and preferably DURABLE) clothes that they love. When OshKosh offered us the chance to review their children's clothing in time for the holidays, I thought, "Why not?" Let's see if OshKosh can meet all of our expectations!
Before I went all-in and accepted the review, however, I needed to check on a couple of things. I knew OshKosh had baby and toddler items, but I have older kiddos, so I was pleased to see they also carry boys and girls sizes up to 12. I also took a sneak-peek at prices...I didn't want to get myself over my head by agreeing to do a review of items I couldn't afford! The lowdown? OshKosh pricing is very affordable! Fashion leggings starting at $10, fleece cozies from $6, and active pants starting at $8. Not to mention, you can often find great coupons and deals on the already low prices.
Armed with a $25 gift certificate, a 40% off coupon, and two little girls eager to do some shopping, I headed to the OshKosh store at Tucson Premium Outlets. From the moment we walked in, I knew it would be hard to limit ourselves to just a few items. My fashion princess saw a pair of sparkly pink high-tops and HAD to have them. My t-shirt lover was gaga over the $5 graphic long-sleeve t-shirts, and also found some comfy B'Gosh PJs ($10+) that she coveted.
Little did the girls know, but my goal was to try to get them into some of OshKosh's affordable denim (jeans starting at $8). The one thing my daughters have in common regarding fashion is: NO jeans. One finds denim too stiff and scratchy, the other just doesn't think jeans are cute enough. Enter OshKosh. As the girls were browsing, they both happened upon a denim jacket that was as comfy as it was cute. The jacket was the gateway to convincing them to try the jeans. To my older daughter's satisfaction, the OshKosh jeans were soft and stretchy. To my younger daughter's amazement, they were completely fashion forward (and she thought they would look awesome with the pink high-tops). Score! All of our fashion philosophies met in one product!
So, three graphic tees, a pair of sparkly shoes and two pairs of jeans later, we all left OshKosh completely satisfied. Plus...sssshhhhhh...I will be returning for Christmas presents. There is an adorable denim jacket that the girls will be thrilled to find under the tree!
